Nurses


Nurse Sue Jay (f)

Registered General Nurse (RGN) and a diploma in Nursing and has 10 years experience as a practice nurse.

Sue has rejoined Preston Grove in January 2014 after living abroad for a few years. Sue is our Practice Lead Nurse whose duties include Infection Control Lead, INRs, family planing, childhood vaccinations and other general nursing duties and runs our dressings clinic.

Nurse Catherine Cassell (f)

Catherine is trained to carry out diabetic care for our patients, both in the surgery and at home for housebound patients. She is trained in COPD and Asthma care and she also carries out general nurse treatments. Catherine is also involved with childhood vaccinations.

Nurse Angela Strange (f)

Angela is our lead nurse in our new INR clinic for our warfarin patients and she is also lead nurse for Coronary Heart Disease. She runs clinics to help support our patients with heart problems. Angela also provides general treatment room care, dressings, injections,smears. Angela is also involved with childhood vaccinations.

Nurse Julie Brigden (f)

Julie is one of our Practice Nurses and is trained to help you with  sexual health, coil fitting, contraceptive implants, family planning.

Nurse Lynda Watson (f)

Lynda is our travel clinic expert and is the lead nurse for childhood vaccination. She also is able to advise on yellow fever vaccinations. She runs one of the INR clinics for our Warfarin pateints and she is also responsible for our flu campaign each year. Her main role is to provide ongoing treatment room care to our patients. The role includes dressings, injections, smears, etc. Lynda is also involved with the childhood vaccinations.

Mrs Angela Ironside (f)


BSc (Hons) Clinical Practice, RGN, RM, Independent Nurse prescriber.

Angela joined the practice in 2009; she is an experienced Nurse Practitioner and an Independent Prescriber.

She is available to see patients presenting with a wide range of health concerns ranging from a minor illness to a more complex problem and is able to refer to secondary care where appropriate. She also sees our long term condition patients for their annual review of their conditions.  She is also able to do medication reviews.  She has a special interest in Diabetes and is responsible for the Learning Disability health checks.

Healthcare Technicians/Assistants


Mrs Joyce Knight (f)

Joyce is our longest serving member of the team and is our Senior Healthcare Technician. She provides nursing assistant care for our patients, carrying out blood tests, dressing care, stich removal, blood pressure checks, Vit B12 and flu vaccinations  and ECG's.

Mrs June Tildesley (f)

June provides nursing assistant care for our patients, carrying out blood tests, blood pressure checks, ECG's and assists with Minor Operations and the Family Planning clinic. She works closely with our practice nurses.

Mr Simon Merrett (m)

Simon provides nursing assistant care for our patients, carrying out blood tests, blood pressure checks, dressings, flu vaccinations, stich removal  and ECG's.. He also carries out home visits for blood tests for patients who cannot get in to the surgery
