Tirzepatide (Mounjaro)

You may have seen in the news that from Monday 23 June 2025 the national roll out of Tirzepatide (brand name Mounjaro) for the management of obesity begins. However, this is to be used as part of an entire weight loss service, which goes beyond just the prescribing of the medication, and this service is not currently in place. We will provide updates on when this becomes available and the surgery will contact you when this is in place and only if you meet the following criteria as per the nationally set roll out programme.

The eligibility for this year is ONLY if you have a BMI of >40 AND have FOUR OR MORE of the following health conditions:

AND a Clinician must consider it an appropriate treatment

We are not able to prescribe the treatment if you do not fulfil the above criteria at this time. We will update the criteria as the roll out plan progresses.
